Production
Cycle For Single-Fired Glazed Tile
PREPARATION
OF THE MIX
· Single-fired
white ware: carried out by wet grinding and followed by spray
drying
· single-fired red ware: carried out by dry grinding and
wetting, dry grinding followed by granulation, and wet grinding
and spray drying ( depending on the speed of firing and the desired
degree of porosity of the final product )
SHAPING
· obtained
by dry pressing with hydraulic presses
DRYING
· carried
out in fast hot-air driers
GLAZING
· In
the single-firing production cycle this operation is carried out
before firing and also consists of two sub-phases.
· Preparation
of the glaze is achieved by wet grinding the glaze mix (formed
by various components, frit, kaolin, additives, etc.)·application
of the glaze by various techniques and machinery and equipment
are used depending on the desired aesthetic effects.
FIRING
· Firing
is carried out in roller kilns. The firing temperature differs
slightly depending on the type of mix and the desired extent of
porosity in the final product:
1. single-fired
red ware T= 1100 to 1150 °C
2. single-fired white ware T= 1150 to 1200 °C
