Equipment for Mosaic Composition:

The standard machine can identify and combine up to six (6) different ‘tesserae’ (mosaic) material composition shapes – i.e. squares, triangles, rounds, etc., allowing for the computer to control and construct design elements for the optimum aesthetic appeal.

1/ Composition material units are loaded into the vibrating and sorting tanks;

2/ From the tanks they travel on a conveyor belt, where a sensor will recognize the face side and will flip the material unit, if necessary.

3/ A second sensor verifies the face side and, if wrong, removes the material unit.

4/ A video system indicates each unit positioning to the robots.

5/ The material units are picked and positioned onto a plate, following a pre-determined computer designed patterning or composition.

6/ The system does not require centred positioning and has no forms, allowing design liberty.

7/ As the plate exits the machine, a mesh with a glue is applied for fixing or mounting the ‘tesserae’ (mosaic) sheets.
